Eric Payne

In 2008 Eric Payne unknowingly made a move that would change his life forever: he began a blog and entitled it "Manchild in the Promised Land". He quickly realized that title might not make sense to everyone on the Internet so he switched it to "Makes Me Wanna Holler" recalling the line in the famous Marvin Gaye song, Inner City Blues. As a newly married man, with a 2 year-old and a 12 year-old in tow, he blogged about his woes about commuting and working in New York City and how the dreams he once dreamed as a child had gone away. Then one fateful day he wrote a post about how his daughter would wake up in the middle of the night, get out her crib and climb into his bed, beating him silly as she wildly slept, keeping him up all night long. The dad blogger known as @EPayneTheDad on Twitter was born and he never looked back. Today in 2012, MakesMeWannaHoller.com is an award-winning blog that has opened doors Eric never even considered, working as a social media analyst for the Coca-Cola Company, doing communications work for The Home Depot and Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, and appearing on CNN's Headline News on Father's Day 2012, sharing his thoughts on fatherhood alongside actor and singer, Tyrese, just to name a couple. Eric is a storyteller by nature and comes from a long line of artists and craftsmen. He wrote his first play in the second grade and is the author of 3 books. He also penned the now infamous, "My Wife IS NOT My Friend (On Facebook)" on the popular marriage and family site,BlackAndMarriedWithKids.com. He believes "there's a story everywhere, you just have to know where to look for it."
