Community Building Through Collaboration

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Since the theme for this year’s conference is ‘Make It Personal’, we believe our session on creating communities will help attendees learn how to really make meaningful connections with their readers, personal conversations that yield lasting relationships.  Conference attendees will benefit by learning simple but meaningful ways that they can build--and then continue to nurture and grow--strong communities around their blogs, blogs that reflect their own deep and meaningful personal strengths and interests.

Focus of our session:

  • Using social media to listen to your readers, connect with readers, and partner with readers.
  • Providing value to your readers’ experiences.
  • Creating places away from the comment section of your blog to hold discussions, connect, and collaborate.
  • Finding and using a unique voice; standing out from the crowd.

What attendees will take away:

  • Why building a community is as important as driving traffic.
  • How to determine which social media platforms will ‘work’ for you and which platforms are worth your time, effort, and energy.
  • How to engage readers with you--and with each other--on the chosen outlets.
  • How to add value to your readers' experience through social media.
  • How to build and create a forum for your blog community.
  • How to collaborate with bloggers to create a larger community.
  • How to utilize your unique voice to stand out from the crowd and build lasting connections with your readers.
